Can I carry on with shoemaking after attending Shoe School?
Yes you can! You will be given a step-by step instructional shoemaking guide during your workshop. This will include a tools and materials breakdown, suppliers guide and shoemaking resource links. You can also join the facebook Shoe School forum, and share tips with other alumni!

Is this workshop suitable for beginners?
Yes. I have designed the workshop content for all levels of experience. If you have never sewn before I will show you how to use the industrial sewing machine, or if you'd prefer to work at a slower pace you can use the hand-operated Singer sewing machines. Some experienced sewers even prefer to use them – not only are they pretty, they're also relaxing to use

Can I make non-leather shoes?
Yes. You can make shoes from fabric with rubber soling. If you're wanting to make vegan shoes I can't give you a guarantee that all materials used to make your shoes will be vegan, but I will do my best to source material information where possible!

How do I find your workshop?
The workshop is located at 247 Riddiford St, the main street of the suburb of Newtown. Buses regularly stop in Newtown from the CBD and I recommend using the Wellington bus journey planner - www.metlink.org.nz The airport is a 15 minute drive from the workshop.
