1-DAY SANDAL
Unlock your creativity and make your very own buckled sandals! This workshop is a hands-on experience that suits all skill levels (recommended for ages 16+). Whether you’re a seasoned maker looking for an extra challenge or a total beginner stepping into the world of leathercraft for the first time, we’ll be right there with our pixie-powered skills to guide you.
Workshops are held in Melbourne at Leffler Leather. Check the booking links for upcoming dates, and feel free to email me if you’d like to organise a custom session. Beginners are absolutely encouraged — come play, learn, and walk away in sandals you made yourself!
In this workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind pair of buckled sandals built on a super comfy ergonomic footbed. Over a full, hands-on creative day, you’ll cut leather, sew, last, and attach your soles - all the satisfying steps that go into making a real pair of sandals. You’ll also get to choose your leather straight from the Leffler warehouse (aka the candy shop of leather and shoemaking goodies!). Your sandals will be built on moulded cork footbeds, with Euro sizes 37–46 available. It’s a fantastic introduction to the core techniques of shoemaking.
This class includes some gluing and hammering - essential shoemaking skills - so if you’d prefer a gentler or safer first step, you might like to start with the 1-day Sneaker Workshop instead.
Classes run from 9am to 5pm. We provide refreshments throughout the day, and if you’d rather not pack lunch, you can choose the lunch add-on at checkout and we’ll bring you a fresh, delicious banh mi. To keep things cosy and hands-on, class sizes are limited to just 3 students. Come ready to make, learn, and walk away in something wonderful!
