Can I carry on with shoemaking after attending Shoe School?
Yes you can! You will be given a step-by step instructional shoemaking guide during your workshop. This will include a tools and materials breakdown, suppliers guide and shoemaking resource links. You'll be invited to join an online forum - where you can share knowledge with other Shoe School graduates.
How do I measure my feet?
Once you've booked your place on a workshop I will email you pdf instructions on how to measure your feet. I've also created a video guide. Be sure to send me your feet measurements by snail mail at least 2 weeks in advance of your workshop as I'll be creating pre-prepared patterns for you.
What style of shoe can I make?
If attending a 4 day workshop, you can choose from the following styles:
Check out the Shoe School Pinterest page for style guides and inspiration, or the Shoe School homepage for examples of student work. Send me an image of the kind of shoe you'd like to make - and we can start a shoe discussion (my favourite topic).
What are the last (shoe form) options?
Photos and details to come soon!
Is this workshop suitable for beginners?
Yes. I have designed the workshop content for all levels of experience. If you have never sewn before I will show you how to use the industrial sewing machine, or if you'd prefer to work at a slower pace, you can use my hand-operated Singer sewing machines. Some experienced sewers even prefer to use them – not only are they pretty, they're also relaxing to use.
How do I book?
Email me with your preferred workshop date/s and any questions you may have. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on the workshop.
